Sanjeevani Vikas Evam Jan Kalyan Samiti always believe in the motto to reach out to the most vulnerable sections of the society and bring them to mainstream of development. To ensure the development of inclusive society, Sanjeevani joined hands with CBM (Christian Blind Mission) to uproot the social stigma surrounding disability and people with disability. To ensure inclusive development for vulnerable sections and persons with disabilities, we have formed 370 Community Based Inclusive Groups (CBIGs) and 4 Disabled People Organizations (DPOs) in Uttarakhand.
To some extent this helped in breaking the vicious circle of poverty and disability that excited in our societies for very long time. Many trained right holders have become master trainers, evolving as future leaders and many have started their own businesses such as beauty parlor, vegetable cultivation, mechanic shop, daily need store etc. To ensure the sustainable growth of the person, Individual rehabilitation plans (IRP)/ Individual Development Plan (IDP) are framed. With economic and social security, the well-being of the people with disability grows, reducing the dependency of person with disability on their family giving them a chance to live a dignified life on their own terms. We have linked the right holders to different line-departments such as for Disability certificate, pension, assistive device support and other rightful schemes for their benefits giving them equal opportunity to participate in community, block level meetings and to get involve in decision making.
Rehabilitation is one of the key component for working with people with disability, to provide them with assistive devices, therapeutic, personal assistance support and training support of skills for daily living, orientation and mobility, sign language we are working with different subject matter specialists to ensure effective implementation with technical support of CBM team.
At present we are working with CBM in Almora and Dehradun district under project PRAISE and ATMANIRBHAR SHAMOODHAY.
